WPI's New State-of-the-Art Fire Laboratory Facility

The WPI Fire Protection Engineering Department welcomes you to the new state-of-the-art fire laboratory at Gateway Park in Worcester, MA that was recently opened in 2013. This facility has new and enhanced full-scale and bench-scale capabilities including a 6 m. calorimeter hood rated for 3 MW fires, fire propagation apparatus, differential scanning calorimeter, and thermogravimetric analysis. This facility is also designed to provide high-quality data free of interference from noise, vibrations, and environmental factors.
