Robert Duval, Senior Fire Investigator, NFPA

Mr. Duval worked with the Building Performance Assessment Team (BPAT), assessing the structural performance of all the buildings at the World Trade Center site following the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.  The BPAT assessment identified recommended improvements to building codes, safety codes, and fire codes based on observations made by the team during their time at the scene and research afterwards.  His presentation will provide an overview of the assessment and the subsequent recommendations for code improvements incorporated over the past decade.
