Corporate Sponsor Program
Beginning with the 2011-2012 chapter year, the New England Chapter of the SFPE will be rolling out a new Corporate Sponsor Program. Corporate Sponsors of the chapter provide financial support for the annual golf outing, the annual seminar, and the monthly dinner meetings. All proceeds from these events support the A.L. Brown Scholarship fund, which provides financial assistance to students working on degrees in Fire Protection who are from, or attending, a school in New England.
The chapter year is kicked off in September with our annual Golf Outing. First held in 2009, the outing has continued to grow and last year we almost had a full course at the shotgun start. Last year this event raised $3,600 for the scholarship fund and supported three scholarships.
The signature event for the Chapter, and primary fundraiser for the A.L. Brown Scholarship, is the Annual Seminar, which is held every March. The seminar has been attended loyally by 70 to 95 people including fire alarm installers, owners, engineers, fire departments, and building officials. Historically, between $6,000 and $13,000 has been raised during the seminar.
Corporate Sponsors also provide funding so that student members can attend the monthly dinner meetings at no charge. This allows the students an opportunity to become involved with the Chapter and network with others in the fire protection community.
In the past, sponsorships were typically only for an individual event. The revised Corporate Sponsor Program provides financial support throughout the Chapter year from June 1st to May 31st. Along with supporting the Chapter, Sponsors gets exposure throughout the year, including the Golf Outing, Annual Seminar, Event Announcements and/or on the Website!! Four tiers of sponsorship are being offered. Some levels include registrations at the golf outing and seminar, in addition to the opportunity to advertise and exhibit at the event. Individual sponsorships will continue to be offered for those companies that are interested in supporting specific events.
