A.L. Brown Scholarship Fund

The Scholarship Committee of the New England Chapter of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers is seeking candidates to receive awards from the A. L. Brown Scholarship Fund for the upcoming school year. The goal of this Scholarship is to encourage students to consider a career in engineering related to Fire Protection.  Past awards have ranged from $1,000 to $7,000.

An applicant should be able to meet the following criteria for the upcoming academic school year:

• Demonstrate a sincere interest in pursuing a career in fire protection.
• Permanently reside in and have graduated from a secondary school located in Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, or Vermont OR currently attend a college or university located in New England.
• Be registered as a full-time student at an institution that has ABET - accredited curricula.
• Be matriculating towards a Bachelor of Science or graduate degree in an engineering discipline.

Scholarship applications are available in November and completed applications must be postmarked by January 31st.  The recipients at the annual meeting on the first Monday in May and will be awarded at the October meeting after confirming academic status.
