      <title>2nd Annual A.L. Brown Scholarship Golf Outing (10 Sep 2010)</title>
      <description>&lt;P&gt;There is still time to register for the second annual A.L. Brown Scholarship Golf&amp;nbsp;Outing on Friday, September 10th at &lt;A href="http://www.cypriankeyes.com/Club/Scripts/Home/home.asp" target=_blank&gt;Cyprian Keyes Golf Club&lt;/A&gt; in Boylston, MA!&amp;nbsp; We have extended our registration period until Thursday, September 2nd, so &lt;A href="/Events.aspx"&gt;register now&lt;/A&gt; to secure your spot!&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;All proceeds from this event will go to the A.L. Brown Scholarship, which is awarded annually to New England students working on a bachelor or graduate degree in an engineering discipline with an interest in pursuing a career in fire protection engineering.&amp;nbsp; Last year, the&amp;nbsp;golf outing&amp;nbsp;raised $3,600 for the scholarship fund.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The&amp;nbsp;outing will be scramble (or best-ball) style.&amp;nbsp; Registration for golf is $125 per player and includes breakfast, 18 holes of golf, golf cart, lunch, and gift bag.&amp;nbsp; A post-golf reception will be held to award prizes.&amp;nbsp; If you would like to just attend the reception, registration is $30, which includes lunch.&amp;nbsp; The&amp;nbsp;outing will start at 8am.&amp;nbsp; Golfers will be able to use the driving range free of charge before the&amp;nbsp;outing starts.&amp;nbsp; &lt;A href="/Events.aspx"&gt;Register here&lt;/A&gt;!&lt;/P&gt;

      <title>SFPE-NEC Meeting - Air Sampling Technologies (27 Sep 2010)</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;Due to the Annual SFPE International Meeting, our normal October meeting will be on September 27th.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Our October meeting will be New Air Sampling Technologies presented by Xtralis. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Topics to be presented by Xtralis will include two new air sampling detection technologies. Remotely located smoke detector for in duct and other area locations that are inconvenient or difficult to access. This system remotely mounts the smoke detector and uses traditional air sampling technology to transport air to the device. Also, being presented is the ECO (Air Sampling Gas Detector) this detector uses the existing air sampling pipe network to actively monitor for gas leaks and continuously ensure air quality of occupied areas.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The program will be presented by Mr. Mike Crovo - Key Account Manager.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;u&gt;Agenda:&lt;/u&gt;&lt;br&gt;4:00pm - 5:30pm Board of Directors Meeting (Members Welcome!)&lt;br&gt;5:30pm - 6:30pm Registration &amp;amp; Cocktails (Attitude Adjustment)&lt;br&gt;6:30pm - 8:30pm Dinner &amp;amp; Program&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The early registration period ends Wednesday, September 22. All early registrations will receive a $5 discount. AHJs and students eligible for special event pricing must be received during the early registration period.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
